This place was closed down a few weeks ago by the Government due to failure to pay $80,000+ in taxes. The third time this owner has done this with two locations in Syracuse. What a shame for the downtown Syracuse area. One of the few places open on Sundays. Their beer selection was fantastic - with many Middle Ages taps. How could this happen again? Who will buy this place, which is now up for auction. A darn shame for Syracuse.

Good to see the former MacGregor's location receive a new lease on life. Stopped in this afternoon for the first time since the re-opening. 60+ taps of mostly good micros and imports including some rarities that I have not seen in NY before. Half a dozen or so on as pitcher specials. Victory HopDevil on at $8.00 a pitcher....what a bargain! Service started out a little spotty as the bartender seemed totally overwelmed at first which was puzzling being that I was the only one at bar and there was only one table in use at dining area. Things finally settled down for her and she was very attentive from then on. Noticed that there was a chicken wing special running in conjunction with the S.U. football game which I took advantage of. Wings were OK.... far from the best that I had ever had. Overall positive experience. Would highly recommend and I will be back the next time I'm in the 'Cuse!.

Stopped in for a bite before the Empire State Beer Festival. Beer-wise and decor pretty much the same as MacGregor's. Menu somewhat different, perhaps slightly better. Comfortable, friendly place (well, except for the guy next to me who fell dead asleep in the middle of the afternoon) for a good beer.

Open even on Sunday in downtown Syracuse. One of the few beer bars open Sundays. What a deal! This place is in the same location as McGregor's used to be. 50+ taps and many, many Middle Ages (Syracuse) beers! Terrific! Wailing Wench. X. Duke. IPA. You name it, they got it! Plus other craft beers. Ithaca. Brooklyn. Ommegang. Ellicottville. Yuengling. Although we did not have any food today, the menu looks good for pub food. Roxie, the bartender, is enthusiastic and helpful. Lots of TVs. Good place to watch sports. An outside area (weather permitting) for the 3 to 4 days in Syracuse that might be sunny and warm! All in all, a welcome addition to the Syracuse bar scene.
